What Are Panic Attacks?
What are panic attacks? Well perhaps you’ve been in a situation where for no apparent reason, you suddenly feel your heart start beating faster and faster, so fast you can feel it beating in your throat. You may have felt like you were having a heart attack or that something was seriously wrong. It is a feeling of sheer terror which grips your entire body and doesn’t let up for what seems like an eternity. That is a panic attack. But why do they happen?
Stress, Stress and More Stress!
What are panic attacks? Nothing more then the result of massive amounts of stress in your life! They are not life threatening, there is not ONE single case of someone dying from a panic attack, so even though it may feel like you’re dying, you’re not. When you have a lot of emotional stresses in your life, it tends to build up your anxiety levels and if this gets to a certain threshold, you may lose it and have the dreaded panic attack.
A Look At The Dreaded Attack
Now when you are experiencing a panic attack, keep in mind that it won’t go on forever, it can’t! Your body will come back to equilibrium eventually. What is happening when you get a panic attack is adrenalin is being pumped throughout your body and you are in the “Fight or Flight” mode. But once your body realizes that there is no real danger you will slowly begin regaining your composure, the only problem is this can feel like an eternity.
So How Can We Manage This?
Now that we know what are panic attacks, the next question is what can we do about them? The answer to that is to change the way we react to them by rewiring the way we think. There’s a technique that teaches you how to do this, it’s called the “One Move Technique” and it essentially stops all panic attacks before they have a chance to take root.
